Looks like the state GOP is keeping the foot on the pedal on their claims that democrats in races here are taking copy from other places. Here’s an open letter from Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney to U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren:
Dear Senator Warren:
Recently, it was discovered the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Tennessee, Gordon Ball, has plagiarized significant portions of the policy positions that appear on his website from you. His campaign’s official response was that a volunteer who is no longer with the campaign compiled the information. Then, when he was asked about it personally, he stated it was, in fact, an attorney on his paid legal staff. We suspect he’ll develop a consistent response eventually.
Regardless, I am sure you are flattered that Democratic candidates in other states are looking to you for policy solutions like raising taxes and growing the federal government’s burden on the backs of hardworking Americans.
That said, we also wanted to inform you that State Representative Gloria Johnson is now pointing the finger at you. In a separate story where Johnson was accused of plagiarizing from you, she had a different explanation for the situation. She tells the Knoxville News Sentinel, “I could say that Elizabeth Warren lifted that from me. I have been saying ‘every child in every ZIP code’ for four years.”
I am providing two contact numbers for you. One is for Mr. Ball, so you may personally thank him for being such an ardent supporter of your liberal policies. The other is for Rep. Johnson because you may want to directly clear up with her just who exactly is responsible for developing the liberal policy positions in question.
Gordon Ball’s campaign number: 877-402- 5010
Gloria Johnson’s office number: 615-741-2031
We have supplied the relevant documents citing the portions of both Gordon Ball’s website and Gloria Johnson’s website for your review.
