Richard “Bud” Armstrong, Knox County’s law director who broke his leg while stopping a motorcycle from falling over, had a checkup recently and is getting around.
He said the doctor gave him a knee brace and told him to come back later this month. Armstrong said he’s staying off the leg, but is back in office with the help of a wheelchair.
“The pictures didn’t look good,” Armstrong said after viewing x-rays of the injury. “I broke it pretty good.”
Until he can walk around with both feet on the ground, he said, Armstrong is showing up for work late and leaving early.
“I went back for budget hearings,” Armstrong said.”I worked from home for a few days, and I was back over there (in office) today. I’ll go in a little after the traffic rush and will leave a little before it hits.”
