The Parkridge Community Organization invites you to join them to celebrate the completion of the 6th Avenue Mural …

Saturday, August 24th from 11 am. to 2 p.m. the 6th Avenue underpass will be closed one more time, as we gather for food, music, and community. Food will be provided by Straight off the Grill in conjunction with Parkridge’s local eatery, Peace by Piece. Local DJ Kate Furst will provide music on “the wheels of steel.” The event will take place rain or shine, and is open to the public.

The 6th Avenue Mural Project began as a grassroots effort within the Parkridge neighborhood. Local artist, Per-Ole Lind, designed and helped over 60 volunteers install the four mural panels that highlight Knoxville and the historic neighborhoods of Parkridge, Fourth and Gill, and Old North Knoxville.

The project was made possible through the support of many individuals and the following organizations: The City of Knoxville, The Community Design Center, TDOT, Graning Paint, SawWorks Brewery, Pittsburg Paints, Knox-Tenn Rentals, Historic Old North Knoxville, Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church, Magpies Bakery, and Knoxville Bread Co-op.CONTACT:Calvin ChappelleOffice: 865-522-8661
