Downtown decorations

You may have noticed the crews around downtown doing the work to put up a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations set to catch light Friday.

Mayor Madeline Rogero will light the tree Friday in a ceremony, and a related slate of events.

City staff does the work to fancify downtown, with crews in bucket trucks and so on, and today public service director David Brace gave a window to what the crews are doing.

While we know that city employees are putting up the downtown decorations, city staff does about 75 percent of the work at the ice rink in Market Square as well.

We’ll follow up with some figures later on. For now, here’s Central’s candy canes:
