Over the weekend KNS ran an update on greenbelt issues around here and the state.
There was one person who wasn’t in the story that we wound up later hearing from, Will Denami, director of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers. The group met Friday, and greenbelt rules are among the expected topics in a run of meetings with members.
He said in a phone message that they didn’t cover that ground Friday, but another meeting will be held tomorrow.
“We didn’t get to it, there’s nothing to report,” Denami said by voicemail.
Hopefully we can update with more later.
In other news, the world’s fastest computer is in Oak Ridge. But, Titan? C’mon – if you’re going to apply a nickname, why not something other than borrowing from the NFL team in the home state? At least they’re going with the more successful football team in the state. And I have a feeling that George Carlin would’ve come up with a few good names for supercomputers.
Our friends to the south in Chattanooga are checking out a new split at I-75/24, and thank goodness. Anyone who has driven through there – as I have, plenty – knows that it’s pretty hairy at times. Again, something that I think Carlin could find some choice words to describe.
