Ohboyohboyohboy: It’s budget time (almost)

This is the most fun time of the year, the time to talk turkey and slice the ‘taters.

It’s budget time. The first public meeting of the year is coming in which Mayor Madeline Rogero and City Council will sit in a budget retreat and discuss what is being spent in FY 2012-13 and how the early makings of fiscal year 2013-14 will look. From a city release:

What: City of Knoxville Budget Retreat

When: 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15th

Where: Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center, 900 Volunteer Landing Lane

Who: Mayor Madeline Rogero, City Council and City staff members will meet for the annual Budget Retreat. The agenda will include a review of the first six months of the 2012-13 fiscal year and a forecast for its remainder; an update on certain City projects; and discussion of the upcoming budget process for fiscal year 2013-14.

The meeting is open to the general public. Anyone needing a disability accommodation in order to attend the meeting can contact City ADA Coordinator Stephanie Brewer Cook at 215-2034 or scook@cityofknoxville.org.
